Dear Friend,

As I write this note global warming intensifies climate change setting our country aflame while the political scene across the nation burns.

The Republicans continue to spout falsehoods about a stolen election and election fraud. They have ramped up their siege in statehouses and are bombarding them with voter restriction laws. In every new voter law, the goal is to make it more difficult for certain people to vote, predominately the marginalized and those who traditionally vote Democratic.

The Republican majority in Harrisburg are preventing passage of justice reform, gun safety, reproductive health care protection, and global warming mitigation laws. They are launching a misinformation campaign about Critical Race theory, all funded by right wing organizations such as The Thomas W. Smith Foundation, Manhattan Institute, the Heritage Foundation, and ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council), and a long list of others.

We will see many court cases arise over these heinous laws, which underscores the vital importance of the upcoming judicial races.

As Democrats we must band together and support EVERY DEMOCRATIC candidate, but most especially our judicial candidates. In Chester County and in PA, all of our Democratic judicial candidates bring something NO Republican judicial candidate has, a Democratic lens for interpretation of the law and our shared Democratic values. Don’t be fooled! Republican judges and candidate will bring their reprehensible Republican philosophy and values to the bench.

Remember:

Democrats delivered on COVID relief, child tax credit expansion, and vaccines while Republicans voted NO. You need to remember this in November 2021 and beyond!

Please check out all of our upcoming events supporting candidates. Our Wine in the Country event on Saturday July 24th should not be missed (see flyer below).

I look forward to seeing you in the coming months, at our monthly meetings, at fundraising events, out canvassing, dropping literature, or meeting up with the candidates.

Regards,

Carol
