TO ALL KENNETT AREA DEMOCRATS

Wednesday’s events at the Capitol were horrific.

It is clear that the fight for our democracy will not be over on January 20th.  Securing and strengthening our democracy will take all of our collective efforts.

We ask each of you to:

CALL.  Our legislators are regularly hearing from MAGA conspiracy theorists. They need to hear from us.

*********************************

Call U.S. Senator Pat Toomey.   Thank him for being on the right side of history, but make clear that his constituents expect him to continue to protect our democracy and to ensure the Sedition Caucus Senators, Tommy Tuberville (Ala.), Rick Scott (Fla.), Roger Marshall (Kan.), John Kennedy (La.), Cindy Hyde-Smith (Miss.), Josh Hawley (Mo.), Ted Cruz (Texas) and Cynthia Lummis (Wyo.), who voted to overturn the election results are censured and do not sit on any committees.

Sen. Toomey can be reached at 215-241-1090 or 202-224-4254

*************************************

Call State Representative Craig Williams.  Tell him you expect him to live up to his promises of bipartisanship and to protect our right to vote. We should be making voting easier, not harder.  The only change to our voting laws should be to permit the counting of votes to begin prior to election day–just like they do in most other states.
We should not gerrymander judges. Ask Rep. Williams to VOTE NO on HB 38. Find more information HERE and HERE and HERE.

Rep. Williams can be reached at 610-358-5925 or 717-783-3038

COMMIT.  We will need everyone who cares about our democracy to work with us to protect voting rights in Pennsylvania and elect our candidates in the “off year” elections to come.  We will be electing School Board Members, Township Supervisors, Borough Mayors and Council Members, and many other local offices that are critically important to the functioning of our democracy.  We need to be ready to increase Democratic majorities in the U.S. House and Senate and to elect more Democrats to the Pennsylvania General Assembly in 2022. That work starts now.

CELEBRATE.  Our task is not easy, but we have won the White House and, after historic wins in Georgia, control of both the U.S. House and the Senate.  The victories of Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff in their Senate races in Georgia show us that sustained grassroots organizing pays huge dividends.

KAD asks for your help to continue our grassroots organizing in Chester County so that we all can celebrate many more wins together.
