As we ring out the old and cheer in the new, there is much to ring about and cheer on.

While we found ourselves gripped with the pandemic, we pulled together in that Kennett Square spirit of a community that cares for one another. Many of you volunteered time or donated money where it was needed (and still is) most.

When our democracy felt it was on the verge of collapse and we wondered if our votes would be counted, we stayed the course, made certain we were registered, voted by mail, or voted in person. While we may not have won them all, we did win the majority of the open seats in Chester County, along with the presidency!

As we step into 2021 we thank Wayne Braffman, who has stepped down as KAD Chair. We warmly welcome Kathryn Monahan as the new KAD Chair. Look for her messages in upcoming newsletters.

We also thank Karen Meyerson for her many years as our KAD Secretary, and welcome Kieran Francke as our new Secretary of KAD.

Another big THANKS to our In the Kennett Spotlight feature writer, Amy Miguel. Amy has served in this function with the utmost professionalism, producing engaging, readable and complimentary articles, both of the interviewee and in melding with our KAD mission and goals. Sadly, these pandemic times require her to focus her priorities to family and employment and resign as our feature writer. Kieran Francke has volunteered to give it a try.

We look forward to working with many of you again during our very important 2021 municipal election cycle. We have our historic row office seat wins from 2017 to defend and new open seats to fill. This election cycle is not the time for complacency.

Until next year we wish you a safe and healthy holiday season and more of the same throughout 2021.

Cheers!
