• July 7, 2025 Temporary Restraining Order by Judge Indira Talwani of the District Court of Massachusetts would prevent the Big Beautiful Bill from stopping Medicaid payments to institutions performing abortions.  The Complaint and the memorandum of law were also filed on July 7, 2025. Remember the Supreme Court in Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic recently prevented similar challenges to states acting to prevent their Medicaid funds from going to those same institutions because no one had standing to raise the issue of the significance of the statutory requirementthat Medicaid patients are entitled to care from “any qualified provider” willing to offer it.
