Tibetan monks 2,300-mile 110-day "Walk For Peace" from Ft Worth TX to Washington DC
Fred Stluka shared about his experience joining the final miles of the Tibetan Monks’ “Walk for Peace.”
His story:
Have you been hearing about the “Walk For Peace”? Two dozen Tibetan monks walked from Ft Worth TX to Washington DC.
2,300 miles, 110 days, 20 miles/day. In bitter cold and snow sometimes. Wearing their orange robes, often barefoot. Sending a message of peace. Be nice to people. And develop your own inner peace.
A friend and I drove 2.5 hours down to DC on Wednesday to join them for the last couple miles. It was great! A little
exercise, some fresh air, and a real party atmosphere.
They’d been joined by about 100 other monks along the way, and had a crowd of thousands of people (like me and my
friend) following them through the streets of DC.
It was VERY cool to see the thousands of people flowing along the street like a river of humanity. Mostly silent and peaceful. Carrying no signs, banners, etc. Just flowers.
