About Jim
Jim Chance is a serving Township Supervisor who has lived in East Marlborough Township with his wife Beth since 2016. He is currently an IT Consultant for the US Army Materiel Command. Previously, he worked as a manager for both Computer Sciences Corporation and E.I. DuPont Corporation. During his time at DuPont, Jim was able to take advantage of their extensive Management Training Programs, which included a thorough education in topics such as project management principles, facilitation, meeting design, and leadership skills. He also previously served as an employee of Bucknell University, supporting professors and students with their IT problems, and teaching Introductory Computer Sciences.
Jim holds Master’s degrees in both Computer Sciences at University of Southern Maine and Biology/Environmental Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. His Master’s degree in biology allowed Jim to do research under pioneering ecologist Dr. Ruth Patrick at both the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia, and Stroud Water Research Center in Avondale PA. His time living and doing research at Stroud gave him a full appreciation of how effective land management strategies can significantly improve water quality and lead to a healthier environment.
