Message from League of Women Voters on CC Board of Election Meeting
Please Attend the Public Meeting
Message from League of Women Voters
On Tuesday, January 27, at 7:00 PM, the Chester County Board of Elections will hold a public meeting to present the results of its investigation into the 2025 Municipal Election poll book error, which left thousands of eligible voters off the printed poll books. This meeting is a critical moment for Chester County voters to show up for transparency, accountability, and constructive reform.
As you may know, more than 12,300 voters were forced to cast provisional ballots because of this unprecedented error. Thanks to the professionalism of poll workers and election staff—and sustained public oversight—approximately 96% of those ballots were ultimately counted. The County has acknowledged the seriousness of the mistake and committed to an independent investigation and public review. They will release the report to the public prior to the meeting.
Now, the Board of Elections needs to hear from residents who support facts, transparency, and meaningful reform, not misinformation or intimidation.
TAKE ACTION

Can’t attend? Email the Commissioners:
After reviewing the investigation report, which (again) will be released prior to the meeting, you can email the commissioners to acknowledgement that this unfortunate situation was handled well, but also to share your expectations for accountability and reform:
-
Josh Maxwell (Chair): jmaxwell@chesco.org

-
Eric Roe: eroe@chesco.org
How to engage effectively:
-
Be respectful, concise, and fact-based

-
Emphasize the need for systemic fixes so eligible voters are never again pushed into provisional voting due to administrative error
-
Share why voting—and trust in the process—matters to you
This is how democracy is strengthened: by showing up, telling the truth, and insisting on systems that work for voters. I have attached a toolkit to this email and will send an updated version when the report is released to the public.
Until then, please SAVE THE DATE for Jan. 27, and plan on attending the meeting if you can, make a public comment if you feel comfortable, and/or email your commissioners so your voice is heard.
Thank you for standing with the League in defense of fair, transparent, and accountable elections. Please reach out if you have any questions.
Be well,
